Description
THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU CAN COMMISSION ME TO PAINT A PORTRAIT OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE IN THIS STYLE JUST E-MAIL: mike@transportartist.co.uk
This L.A.D. Albion started life as a flat for Haliday of Palnackie in Scotland hauling pit props for the National Coal Board. The initials L.A.D. denoted Leyland, Albion, Dodge who shared the costs of development of the all steel cab. Most cabs up till then being coachbuilt on wood frames, and although cheaper to produce and obviously safer in the event of an accident it lacked interior space and good visibility. The vehicle itself was eventually rebuilt by Halidays to a crane lorry for hauling out timber and towing duties.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American in acrylics on A3 heavyweight watercolour paper would cost 500.
