Description
FOR AS LITTLE AS £250 YOU CAN COMMISSION ME TO PAINT A PORTRAIT OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE IN THIS STYLE JUST E-MAIL: mike@transportartist.co.uk
The A.E.C. London Transport LT Renown six wheeler although never as numerous as its STL stable mate was a common sight until well after the war and was a most impressive vehicle to look at. Until amended in the mid fifties double deckers were restricted to 27 6" overall length on two axles so to increase capacity by building to three axles were needed. Curiously the same number of tyres were in contact with the ground, a two axle bus ran on twin rears but a three axle had singles on the rear bogie.
This image was used on the cover of Ken Glazier's excellent book about London Transport in the immediate post-war years " Routes to recovery" published by Capital Transport.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American in acrylics on A3 heavyweight watercolour paper would cost £250.
