The Bristol LLWB coach chassis fitted with this full fronted body were dubbed Queen Marys by their drivers and were considered very modern at the time most coaches were half-cabs.
This example of Western National is seen on Plymouth Hoe and in the background is Smeatons tower of 1759 formally the lighthouse on the notorious Eddystone rocks 14 miles east of Plymouth Sound and rebuilt on the Hoe when replaced by a larger lighthouse in 1882.
The original of this painting was in oils on a 20″30″ board.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about 1500.
E-mail mike@transportartist .co.uk to commission your own unique work of art by one of Britains leading transport artists.
