Description
THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE EITHER BRITISH OR AMERICAN, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAIN'S LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk.
With her cylinder cocks open ex-GWR Castle Class 5058 Earl of Clancarty has the Right away with a Down express sometime in the 1950s. The beautiful condition of the locomotive is typical of the Western region of British Railways at the time when little had seemed to change after Nationalisation of the railway since the days of the old Great Western Railway and men still carried the pride they felt in that company.
This particular Castle was a regular performer on the main line West of Plymouth for many years because King class locomotives were banned from using Brunel's Saltash bridge due to their axle-weight.
A painting like this of your favourite locomotive, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about 2500.
