THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE WHETHER BRITISH OR AMERICAN, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAINS LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk
An image of a painting of about 25 years ago depicting a Castle class 4.6.0 approaching Starcross with an Up express for Paddington. Starcross was the site of one of the pumping stations for Brunels ill-fated atmospheric railway which was an attempt to replace locomotive hauled trains with a system using a vacumn in a central pipe to propel a train along the rails. Needless to say this brave experiment was a failure and abandoned after a few years but a few of the buildings that housed the machinery have survived, the one at Starcross being a museum now.

COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Mike sadly passed away November 2020 aged 81, but I, (his partner) will keep his shop here going and am happy to reply to any emails you might send to his own email address at mike@transportartist.co.uk. He is without a doubt THE lorry...
