Artist's Description

THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAIN'S LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk

A summers day in Dawlish, Devon set in the 1950s and a Ford Consul sweeps by on its way to a holiday destination while an old pre-war Morris receives some attention from the AA man who has arrived on his motorcycle combination to help the stranded motorist.

In the background there is a Devon General bus from Torquay on its way to Exeter and a Castle class locomotive is leaving Dawlish station with a train for Plymouth. This scene is little changed today, the vehicles are gone and of course steam traction has been replaced by diesel but the town of Dawlish is still very much a holiday destination.

A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about 1500.

Mike Jeffries

COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. Years of being at the sharp end of long distance HGV driving has given him an insight and knowledge into the industry that enables Mike to depict lorries as they really were in the past and not the idealized view of the less knowledgeable making him the man to paint an original of your favourite commercial vehicle. He is without a doubt THE lorry...
