Artist's Description
THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAIN'S LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk
The RT was built in large numbers for London Transport by AEC and set the standard for others and this example, RT1 no less, is seen here at a very well known location and is followed by an earlier STL just before the outbreak of WW2.
Painted in oils on a 24″18″ canvas board.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about 2000.

About Mike Jeffries
COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Mike sadly passed away November 2020 aged 81, but I, (his partner) will keep his shop here going and am happy to reply to any emails you might send to his own email address at mike@transportartist.co.uk. Virtually nobody considered the humble lorry worthy of the subject of a painting until Mike made it so. Years of being at the sharp end of long distance HGV driving has given him an insight and knowledge into the industry that enables Mike to depict lorries as they really were in the past and not the idealized view of the less knowledgeable making him the man to paint an original of your favourite commercial vehicle. He is without a doubt THE lorry...

Mike, this is a great piece of work. It brings back memories of this corner and my wonderful times spent in London.
Mike Jeffries replied:
Many thanks Raffi but sadly poor old London just isn't what it was anymore in my opinion the things and people that made it so unique have changed almost beyond recognition.
