An old railway carriage serves as the basis for a transport cafe as the crew of the 1959 Commer artic check the chains on the low- loader trailer before heading for a fry-up and a cuppa in this scene from the 1960s.
Edward Beck was based in Greg Street, Reddish, near Stockport and had three Commer TS3s at one time, the TS stood for two-stroke and the 3 for three cylinders. About Mike Jeffries
COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Mike sadly passed away November 2020 aged 81, but I, (his partner) will keep his shop here going and am happy to reply to any emails you might send to his own email address at mike@transportartist.co.uk. He is without a doubt THE lorry...

I remember this and many others from my childhood. Some of which I would have seen daily whilst they were being completed. My father was a great artist. I wish I had access to more of the originals as he had wished for 99.9% of his life. Myself and my bother had planned to collate his work, and show it off. Now the originals are just being sold off for wine tokens. It’s a great shame. At least it is all in one place on this website, so we can claw back the catalogue of his legacy in prints, and allow his grandchildren to view his talent.
