YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAIN'S LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk
Reffells Brewery of Bexley in Kent were one of ERFs first customers in 1933 and bought two four-wheelers to be used as brewery drays for local deliveries and they gave good service for many years well into the post-war era. Here one of them leaves the recently rebuilt Woodman pub, Blackfen in 1934 having just made a delivery for the thirsty inhabitants of this Kentish suburb.
Today Reffells beer is but a memory, ERF are no more but the Woodman still survives very much in the form shown here.
This painting on a 20x30 canvas was painted for my great friend and historian Alan Bedford in whose living room it now hangs.

COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Mike sadly passed away November 2020 aged 81, but I, (his partner) will keep his shop here going and am happy to reply to any emails you might send to his own email address at mike@transportartist.co.uk. Years of being at the sharp end of long distance HGV driving has given him an insight and knowledge into the industry that enables Mike to depict lorries as they really were in the past and not the idealized view of the less knowledgeable making him the man to paint an original of your favourite commercial vehicle. He is without a doubt THE lorry...
