Artist's Description
THIS PAINTING IS SOLD BUT YOU TOO CAN COMMISSION MIKE TO PAINT YOUR VERY OWN ORIGINAL OF YOUR FAVOURITE VEHICLE, A SOUND INVESTMENT FROM WHOM MANY REGARD AS BRITAIN'S LEADING TRANSPORT ARTIST. JUST E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.uk
A Tinfront AEC eight-wheeler sporting Andersons of Newhouses fine livery is seen here at the Fox and Goose roundabout in the suburbs of Birmingham in the mid-sixties with a good fifteen tons of steel bar bound to one of the many engineering firms in that city when Britain was still a nation that made things rather than consuming them. In the background a Birmingham bus on the 28 route is about to cross the Ring road on its meandering journey to the suburb of Great Barr and a Singer saloon, by this time taken over by the Rootes group, leaves the roundabout.
A painting like this of your favourite vehicle, British or American, in oils on canvas or board would cost about 2000.

About Mike Jeffries
COMMISSION A PAINTING FROM MIKE. It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Mike sadly passed away November 2020 aged 81, but I, (his partner) will keep his shop here going and am happy to reply to any emails you might send to his own email address at mike@transportartist.co.uk. Years of being at the sharp end of long distance HGV driving has given him an insight and knowledge into the industry that enables Mike to depict lorries as they really were in the past and not the idealized view of the less knowledgeable making him the man to paint an original of your favourite commercial vehicle. He is without a doubt THE lorry...
